Before the earthquake ravaged Haiti, I was scheduled to travel to Haiti for a few months to visit…to live (as I have declared 2010 my year to travel); as a result, I resigned from my place of employment. Since the devastation I have cancelled my trip and hopefully will travel in the near future when circumstances permit. I am currently unemployed and I have never felt so at peace in my life…so in awe of my desire and ability to not only profess that I trust the universe but to actually live trusting the universe. While planning my trip to Haiti, many were skeptical of my decision to resign from a great job in a suffering economy…Then as fate would have it, I had to cancel my trip due to the devastation. To gain some clarity on the situation I have been fasting and cleansing since my last day of work 3 weeks ago and I must confess that I am discovering that I have some very sick, insensible and sheepish thoughts.

Last night I was showered with the wise words of a friend. In regards to my current situation she expressed, “baby, this ain’t nothin’ but a pit stop. Sometimes the creator feels the need to take us out of our comfort zone as a means to reveal certain things to us about ourselves that we could not have learned within our previous environment. Sometimes a job no longer fits YOUR PURPOSE.” Most times, when the Most High decides to pull me over to the side of the road for one of these pit stops I don’t listen. I usually perceive the pit stop as a punishment or a guilt trip for not properly preparing myself for the future. I typically cloak myself with a victim mentality, panic and voraciously plan out my future with gusto from my root chakra. According to David Pond, author of Chakras for Beginners: A Guide to Balancing Your Chakra Energies, “The chakras are spinning vortexes of energy located just in front of the spine and positioned from the tailbone to the crown of the head. The chakras are a map of you inner world – your relationship to yourself and how you experience energy. Basically, “the chakras address where you are within yourself as you do what you do.” There are 7 major chakras within us and the ultimate goal is to flow through life with all 7 chakras balanced. Pond asserts, “understanding your chakras can help break the yoke that ties you to the cultural beliefs you’ve assimilated. If you are often unbalanced in a particular chakra, you are likely attempting to maintain an inherently false image of yourself. False, in that it is not genuine to you, and doesn’t lead you to your center, but to a state of imbalance. If it led you to your center, you would not experience imbalance. These false images are incorporated into your self – image when you over respond and adapt to other people’s view of you.” Thus, the root chakra, also known as the first chakra is a dangerous place to plan a future if the chakra is imbalanced. The primary drive of the root chakra is survival. The root chakra governs survival, stability, security, passion, one’s relationship with money, home and one’s job. You can decipher if one’s root chakra is imbalanced if one ever experiences feelings of insecurity or lack in regards to survival.

Whenever the Most High pulls me over for one of these pit stops I usually develop this intense urge to apply to college to obtain my Master’s degree. During this current pit stop, this urge has tried to creep into my future plans but this time I nixed the urge into the bud by examining my motives for wanting to achieve a Masters degree within the confines of an institutional facility. Once I examined my motives, I discovered that my desire to obtain a Masters degree is rooted within some sick, insane and cowardice thoughts.

1) It would be nice to obtain a Master’s degree so that I can postpone paying my student loans that have allowed me to obtain my Bachelor’s degree.

Higher Counter thought: I see where you are coming from, but this is sick. Stop being lazy and manifest all that you need to invest in your student loans.

2) I can purchase a car with my refund check

Counter Higher Thought: This is just sick too. Refer to your higher thought from motive #1.

3) It would be nice to meet some new people and to attract new friends

Counter Higher Thought: Go to a coffee shop and meet new friends it’s free.

4) I want to make my family proud

Counter Higher Thought: I honestly desire to inspire my family to live than to make them proud.

5) Obtaining a Master’s degree is what is expected of me

Counter Higher Thought: Been there, done that. It’s a boring and lackluster life.

6) Obtaining a Master’s degree will increase my financial success in the job market

Counter Higher Thought: Please, if this ain’t one of the biggest lies told. I volunteer at an assistance center and I was going through some files recently and I found out that one of my old professors who holds a PHD, is a client of the center and she is apparently strapped for cash and unable to pay her rent or her utility bills. Our outer world is simply a manifestation of our inner world, so make sure you make your spirit and your thoughts thick and rich.

7) A Master’s degree will look great on my Resume

Counter Higher Thought: Lie, when was the last time someone asked you to see your diploma for a job interview? Just kidding don’t lie. Right now, I honestly do not see a master’s degree, a resume or a job as necessary to live out my life’s purpose.

8.)I want to learn

Counter Higher Thought: Go to the library, it’s free…Speak to a bumb on the street it will only cost you a quarter.

9) I’m bored

Counter Higher Thought: Get A Life and pay attention. For, those who are bored simply aren’t paying attention.

My desire is by no means to knock institutional higher education; I simply desire to make a point to myself and to anyone who feels inspired to be inspired that most people’s desire to seek a higher education within an institutional facility is rooted within an imbalanced root chakra. It is rooted out of fear and a great desire to present a false image to others. Have I benefitted from receiving a higher education within an institutional facility? Yes. Do I regret it? No, I am a proud Spelmanite and my matriculation through Spelman served it’s purpose for me at that time. I learned a valuable lesson about the law of attraction: If you desire something deep enough, the universe will work in your favor to provide you with that desire (little black girl from Newark, NJ that never spoke a word and didn’t even break a thousand on her SAT got into Spelman and graduated Magna Cum Laude). I learned that dreams do come true and that if you put your mind to something you can achieve it if only you believe in yourself. While at Spelman I was unaware of the Law of Attraction, but I was subconsciously arming myself with life lessons that would propel me into my life’s purpose. I currently do not feel that a higher education within an institutional facility is a part of my higher purpose as I propel forward, but, you never know maybe it will be in a few months or a few years, but right now, my motives are birthed from a very sick, tangled and damaged root chakra.

Western civilization has programmed me to think that a degree is necessary to be successful in this world. As I mature and step into myself I am learning that an education is necessary to be successful but a degree is not required. There are many successful individuals that do not have degrees but they are living life somewhere over the rainbow simply because they 1) believed in themselves 2) respected their gifts by utilizing them and 3) they opened their heart to opportunities presented from unconventional sources. Just to name a few: Sean Puffy Combs, Djheuty Maat Ra, Les Brown, Alicia Keys, Donald Trump, Michael Jackson and the list goes on…Yes, most of these individuals are entertainers and as quiet as I’m kept, I am a Leo and more than any other sign within the zodiac, the Leo’s main reason for reincarnating into this world is to SHINE and to INSPIRE. Most entertainers do not have degrees…they have gifts. And we have all been blessed with gifts that have the ability to make us successful beyond measure; however, it is us up to us to be open to these gifts and open to the teachers and the tools that magically stumble upon our path. A degree is not needed to succeed in life, for, it is man made. All that is necessary is that you are open to your gifts and that you graciously utilize your gifts that the creator has graciously bestowed you with…Learn thyself, know thyself and Do you… By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life (2 Peter 1:3)

HARRP and Earthquakes
2010 is starting out with powerful earthquakes and other expressions of nature that are causing disasters for thousands of people around the globe. Could these disasters of earthquakes, and other powerful weather occurrences be natural, or could the sinister control freaks of the New World Order be manipulating these disasters with their advanced “secret” technology?
Antarctica.

On Antarctica, an ice-glacier block, the size of Oahu of Hawaii broke away and is now drifting. The scientists are perplexed over the occurrence. Oahu may not be the biggest island of Hawaii, but it is a huge size of land ; if you have visited then you will comprehend the immense size the ice-glacier block.
A Storm Called Xynthia.

In Western Europe a storm, called “Xynthia”, blew into France early Sunday with hurricane-force winds, flooding ports, destroying homes and leaving 1 million households without electricity. It also battered Belgium, Portugal, Spain and parts of Germany and snarled train and air travel throughout the continent. About 60 people have died and the cost 3 million Euro’s of emergency aid from the disaster.

Note: Hurricane force winds hitting France from the Atlantic seacoast?
The Snow in the US Northeast.

Major snow blizzards in the northeast of the United States are occurring this winter, the northeast experienced a 3rd major snow storm. Some residents of long island have commented that they have never experience a harsh winter as this year. They are calling the current snow storm in New York the biggest and deadliest snowstorm and using the unofficial terminology as a “Snow Hurricane” or a “Snowicane”. Two feet in the cities and up three feet of snow in the suburbs around New York state is the report.
Two Major Earthquakes!

Two major earthquakes disasters occurred within only five weeks of each other. It is very difficult not to speculate if at least one was manipulated by using HARRP.

The Haiti Earthquake claimed around 230,000 deaths and millions homeless and improvised people remain on the streets. Anybody who deeply researches the foul play and false flags of the situation will learn the evil intent of the western greedy vision of Haiti. After all Bill Clinton did call it “An Equal Opportunity Disaster”. And now, to add to the disaster, flood rains are occurring. They are saying the rainy season is beginning three weeks early.

And now, another powerful earthquake of 8.8 on the richter scale hits Chile, the same area where the most powerful earthquake in the world occurred in 1960 hitting the scale at 9.2. The conspiracy theorists are rolling the dice by combining the earthquake and technology of HARRP. The news is filled with advertising the “looters” who are desperate to “just survivor” the tragedy; thousands of troops are heading to the devastated area. I wonder if they are bringing food? From the news articles it sounds like for security only. It’s a strange world, the slowness of aid seems to always be tied up with red tape. Hurricane Katrina is a fine example.

     * About two million Chileans are believed to have been affected by Saturday’s earthquake, the seventh most powerful on record and the worst disaster to befall Chile in 50 years.
* About 1.5 million homes in Chile have been damaged.
* Only 723 as of today are counted as dead, very low compared to Haiti.

NASA is reporting that the 8.8 earthquake might have shifted the earth axis slightly with the effect of shortening the day. Richard Gross, a geophysicist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California determined that the quake should have moved the Earth’s figure axis about 3 inches (8 centimeters). The figure axis is one around which the Earth’s mass is balanced. That shift in the axis is what might shortened days.

There has been more earthquakes in the world in the first two months of 2010: Haiti, Argentina, Venezuela, Eureka, California, north of Chicago, Japan, and Chile, maybe this is an indication of a trend, but not a positive one. Was there a moment in World history where we had so many large earthquakes within such a short period of time? Is there any documentation of such a frequency of quakes as the one the World has seen this year in 2010, and with so many large quakes in a two month period?

In PELLUHUE Chile, a tsunami Slammed the coast in three waves, surging 200 meters (yards) into this Pacific Ocean resort town. Notice the height, the size of two football fields. A bus or tourists were trying to outrun the waves and it got trampled from the large walls of water.
The Difference in Propaganda relating to the Earthquake Disasters.

Interesting of how the propaganda is different between the two earthquakes of Chile and Haiti; the cries of blaming “god” haven’t been sounding compared the propaganda of Haiti. Maybe the Sun Worshiping Christian, Pat Robertson, was wrong about the Voodoo of Haiti and “a pact with the devil”. I guess Chile is too “Christian” as to have “God” mad at them, but where is God? Indeed that is not a theme of propaganda for Chile?

Have you ever wondered how the governments of the world can live high on their greedy horse, but when a disaster strikes the leaders are very slow at providing the basic needs? People trapped in a disaster area need food, water, and some basic shelter. It is said that many of Concepcion’s 500,000 inhabitants are short of food are experiencing their water and electricity supplies cut off from the powerful earthquake.
Disaster Preparation Advice:

If your a person who lives a normal life and stuck where you live—referring to a non-nomad lifestyle—you might want prepare yourself so you can survive without electricity. A camp gas stove and fuel is essential; stock up on dry food such as rice and lentils; have a supply of water in your house; if you live in a cold region in the winter, you might want to figure out you will be able to stay warm without electricity.

An excellent place to browse is Cabelas.com, or better yet, order a catalog. This company produces excellent equipment for camping which will be an asset in a survival situation.

The situations of these disasters could be natural, or they could be from the technology of HARRP. It is a subject that is very difficult to prove for an onlooker.

What is HARRP?

Have you ever created a small little tornado with a glass jar? I have.

The idea behind Weather Control is simple, when you think about it simply. When you see and experience a strong thunderstorm, with a lot of lightening and thunder, what fact about this storm strikes you the most? Are you not impressed by the powerful display of energy that you witness? Energy is the primary ingredient behind nature’s storms. Therefore, you must believe that, just perhaps, if energy is the most dominant outward factor in all kinds of storms, then energy might be the key factor in creating such storms in the first place.
alaska,mountains
The million [Pentagon] project, euphemistically named HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program), is made to beam more than 1.7 gigawatts (billion watts) of radiated power into the ionosphere—the electrically charged layer above Earth’s atmosphere. Put simply, the apparatus is a reversal of a radio telescope—just transmitting instead of receiving. It will ‘boil the upper atmosphere’. After [heating] and disturbing the ionosphere, the radiations will bounce back onto the earth in for form of long waves which penetrate our bodies, the ground and the oceans.

Dr. Begich explains this concept quite clearly: this invention provides the ability to put unprecedented amounts of power in the Earth’s atmosphere at strategic locations and to maintain the power injection level, particularly if random pulsing is employed, in a manner far more precise and better controlled than heretofore accomplished by the prior art …the goal is to learn how to manipulate the ionosphere on a more grand scale than the the Soviet Union could do with its similar facilities. HAARP would be the largest ionospheric heater in the world, located in a latitude most conducive to putting Eastlund’s invention into practice. Furthermore, from this northern latitude, the energy could be aimed into the ionosphere so that it would bounce back down to the earth so it would come down wherever the scientists wanted it to come down. The secret was to learn how and where to aim it to hit the earth where they wanted it to hit, creating the type of disaster or weather they desired.

In a nutshell, this is the nucleus of the expertise technology recently acquired to control the weather. By pouring measured energy that has been focussed into certain parts of the ionosphere, scientists can create all kinds of storms like hurricanes, thunderstorms, floods, tornadoes, and drought.

Could it be believable or more deception? Could part of the deception be that it is true about HARRP?

Sounds like some Science Fiction movie, and most people will disengage from the thought that the governments (mostly the United States) can control the weather. A huge majority of the population still dogmatically believes that the leaders of the world are the “good guy”. Well, the deception is powerful and will become much more powerful as the New World Order progresses to meeting their god the Antichrist. It is time for each person to wake up and start deciphering the deception. Because the people that don’t and remain deluded, the New World Order will desire your energy to enslave.

Hitherto, it was thought that premium SMS service is used only for mobile marketing and game shows on television. Sadly, it took an unfortunate tragedy like the earthquake in Haiti to prove otherwise. As every dark cloud has a silver lining, the upheaval in Haiti has highlighted the human side of mobile marketing. USA donated over million to Haiti earthquake victims and a major chunk of it was garnered through premium SMS service. Red Cross alone raised million through premium text messaging service.

Simple Texts helped send relief money to Haiti.

Simple and quick method

Probably, this was the first time in the history that such a huge aid donation was raised within such a short time; and that too it involved no physical efforts but a few presses of a mobile keypad.

It involved a simple interactive bulk text messaging from the aid collector agencies. They collaborated with mobile marketing services for sending premium SMS. Mobile users across the US received a text message asking them to donate to Haiti earthquake victims. All that mobile users needed to do was to reply by a text message if they were interested to donate. was charged to their mobile bill for the month. It was as simple as that.

It took a few seconds per mobile user to key in the reply, from wherever they are, and whenever they wanted. This simple and quick method invoked the sea of humanity and resulted in the deluge of donations.

Advertisements and endorsements

Amidst the plethora of text messages that the mobile users receive everyday, it was very likely that they neglect or delete altogether the message for the help. So, in order to pump up the visibility and response to the message various mobile marketing campaigns, advertising on national TV and celebrity endorsements were undertaken.

First Lady Michelle Obama turned spokesperson for the Haiti earthquake victims. She appealed to the people on a television show ’24′. The National Football League play-off games were also used as a platform for the appeal. Unbelievably, it resulted in almost half a million donations per hour via text messaging service during the games.

Crucial tool in critical situations

Premium SMS service and other mobile marketing tools like mobile advertising, mobile marketing campaigns, bulk SMS, etc. are proving to be very handy during critical times, owing to their wide reach, easy usability and anytime application. It has already proven beneficial in strengthening the bond of humanity. It has crossed all the barriers of cast, creed and color to amass huge help through premium SMS donations to Haiti.

The Caribbean is not one unified region. There is the French-speaking Caribbean, Spanish-, Dutch- and English-speaking Caribbean. Jamaica is the largest of the English speaking Caribbean islands; it is said to be about the size of the state of Connecticut.

All the islands in the English speaking Caribbean share a similar history of slavery and British colonialism. The irony is that despite the similarities the islands are different and the people of the islands know very little about each other. Our intonation and dialect are different: the dialect of the island of St. Lucia is a mixture of French, English and West African languages Our cultural practices are different. The geographical features are different: Dominica has 365 rivers, Nassau, Bahamas has none. The English-speaking Caribbean unites when it comes to the sport of cricket, and when it comes to education: they share a common exam for 17 year old high school students (except the Bahamas) and all the islands contribute to a regional university: the University of the West Indies. The university has campuses in Trinidad, Barbados, Bahamas and Jamaica. The leaders meet at CARICOM (name of the regional body) and make economic decisions that affect the region but the people are largely ignorant of each other and very competitive with each other. Jamaicans, for example, think that they have the best and the tastiest native dishes in the Caribbean: curried goat, rice and kidney beans, hard-dough bread, spicy jerk pork, jerk chicken and beef patties and they know they have produced the best athletes in the English-speaking Caribbean.

So what’s wrong with the big Caribbean islands of Haiti and Jamaica, and with Guyana? Guyana is geographically located in South America but shares the Caribbean sea and its history with the English-speaking Caribbean. Read John Maxwell’s article, Haiti’s Great White Hope, published in the Jamaica Observer May 25, 2009 http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/columns/html/20090523T170000-0500_152049_OBS_HAITI_S_GREAT_WHITE_HOPE_.asp. It is an article primarily about Haiti and predicts failure of President Bill Clinton, UN envoy to Haiti and The Great White Hope. He writes of treachery of the Haitian leaders and the American trained Haitian army, unfair lending terms by international agencies (compound interest), and invasion of Haiti by the United States 93 years ago and Jim Crowism in Haiti.

Jamaica’s and Guyana’s problems are complex but to a great extent they have to do with self-sabotage of the people – race and class issues, betrayal of the people by political leaders, and unfair lending terms by the international agencies hence the poverty, crime, and mass emigration of the people to smaller Caribbean islands and first world countries.

Dare I suggest that one solution is more unity in the region? And the prerequisite should be increased knowledge of the people of the region of each otherp.

Dare I suggest

Senegal offered sanctuary to any Haitians that wish to emigrate. So far I haven’t heard much
more about it. Just the President’s announcement.

I also haven’t heard of any other nation in the world willing to take Haitian refugees.

The basic statement made by the collective Earth is; Stay in Haiti; we’ll bring the Aid to you.

Now living in Jamaica, which is virtually next door to Haiti, the anti-refugee sentiment is about 80%.
Although there are those who feel we can take a few, most have images of a million Haitians pouring
into Jamaica like a swarm of locusts.

Cuba is silent, the Dominican Republic has constantly policed its borders.

Simply put, we don’t want them.

The relationship between Haiti and the rest of the world, primarily the Caribbean has not been one
of more than on paper amicability.

Going back in History we will find that the Spanish captured the islands which were then taken from
the Spanish by other nations. England was pretty much the busiest conqueror, so from the Bahamas
to Trinidad, you can pretty much expect to hear English save in Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and
Puerto Rico, were Spanish is spoken, in Curacao where Dutch is the language, and in Haiti which
speaks not French but ‘Creole’…and language not spoken outside of Haiti, save by Haitians.

During the 1700s Saint Dominque, (the French name for Haiti) was the richest colony. The sugar
production dwarfed that of other nations.

There were numerous slave uprisings until the French Revolution when the colony seised Independance.
The French tried to retake the island, were defeated, and in 1804 it became the first independant black
nation under the name of Haiti.

The slaves had risen up, the ex-slaves made up the government.
The rest of the world pulled away, and France demanded reparations for the cost of the war.

There was little contact with Haiti by the other islands.
Officially.

Unofficially pirate continued to use Haiti and a clandestine trade built up with Jamaica.
Jamaica often sold indigo as locally produced when much of it came from Haiti.

The problem with Haiti before 1834, was that the other islands practiced slavery, and tried to
present their images of Blacks being unable to govern themselves. The existence of Haiti
partially disproved this precept.

Haiti was governed by Blacks. But it was bady governed.

Within a short time, Haiti broke into three pieces; the East was Santo Domingo and Spanish,
the south west was occupied by mixed blood, and did not join the north for sometime.

Eventually there were two nations; Haiti and Santo Domingo. The relationship between them
was not cordial.

Haiti quickly developed an ‘over class’ of people who owned everything, a very large underclass
which was extremely poor. And kept poor. Kept poor by the absence of education, opportunity,
and their inability to speak French.

As time passed things did not improve for the majority of Haitians. They lived in squalor, they
went hungry, they resorted to crime, they were killed. There was no way out for most of them.
They lived as they had when they were slaves but without a Master.

The other islands of the Caribbean had populations of educated Blacks and mixed race people.
When Britian abolished slavery there was a two year period of ‘appentiseship’ which was to
transition. Many churches stepped in as halfway houses.

By the end of the 1800s in most English colonies there was a large black middle and working class
and English was the standard language, although various pidgeons were spoken privately and
among the uneducated, the majority understood English, and those who could read, could read
the newspaper and enlighten others.

There was no Creole paper in Haiti, and the majority did not speak or read French.

As time progressed, the British colonies moved for levels of self-government. Beginning with
local legislatures passing local laws, creating local entitites. However, the fact that the British
colonies were still colonies meant the British civil service occupied governmental offices.

The policies and procedures were fully British. Building a hospital or a road was undertaken by
British archetects and engineers. Yes, local labour, but under the British system.

By the time the first British colony became independent in 1962, the civil service was as is,
where is, meaning that the British citizens who occupied positions slowly demitted office, unless
retained by contract.

This allowed a smooth transition, and which is why many of the ex-colonies entered Independence
with little more than a flag change.

The police remained the Royal Barbadian Police, still using the same stationery. Name changes
were slow, the redirection from British heroes to local took time. The use of the British pound,
then local currency based on British currency continued for some years.

In short, the rest of the Caribbean islands did not go from slavery to freedom overnight. People
were not thrust into positions for which they had not trained.

In Haiti ex-slaves continued to live as slaves, a minority continued to dominate them, and corrupt
ruler after corrupt ruler exploited what little Haiti had or could obtain.

The recent earthquake exposes the reality of Haiti. Of Ten million people living on a land mass which
should not hold more than three. Of living in such squalor and poverty, that the city collapsed because
it was so poorly constructed. And that the people who survived simply stood where they were, waiting.

We all saw images of people tossing away their dead with less care than one would dispose of a dog.
We all saw Haitians bathing on the street, in full view of all and sundry, defecating where they stood,
acting pretty much like cattle.

Those on the other islands of the Caribbean do not want Haitians in their midst. Even in the most
depressed areas of the inner cities, people will defecate in a plastic bag, tie it, and pitch it somewhere.
They don’t stand in public view and open their bowels.

This image of bathing in the street, of defecating where they stand, of tossing away their dead without
ceremony has always been the image we have had of Haiti, as well as dishonest Voo Doo practitioners.

This image is held by the rest of the world, except Senegal, who offers them a home.
Yet, they do not seem interested in Senegal.

The rich Haitians, those who were requested to move their private planes so that relief flights could
land are not interested in the average person. Living in their gated communities and palaces, none
of which suffered damage, as they were properly built, rich Haitians occupy a different world.

The possibility exists, though perhaps slim, that out of this disaster will come some progress. That
the average Haitian will be brought into the world community, with schools, and hospitals, and
opportunities.

Of course, it is more than likely that Haiti will remain where it was on January 2, 1804.

What is voodoo?

Voodoo was brought by slaves from West Africa, which believers contend that nature is guided by spiritual forces which are honored through offerings and animal sacrifice, trances and rituals. The practice of voodoo revolves around family spirits called loua or MistE which they believe protect their children from bad fortune. The families feed the loua through rituals that involve food and drink.

The Concise Oxford Dictionary states that voodoo is:

voodoo use of or belief in sorcery, etc. current among W. Indies and U.S. Negroes and creoles. XIX. — Dahomey vodu.

The World Encyclopedia :

voodoo Religious belief of African origin. It is prevalent in parts of Africa, but is better known as the national religion of Haiti. Adherents believe in the reincarnate qualities of Loa, which include deified ancestors, local gods and Roman Catholic saints. Loa possesses the believers during dreams or ceremonies, which include dancing and hypnotic trances.

My thoughts: As a Christian, I am disturbed by the determination of the Haitian people to continue with their voodoo practices. I understand that for many, this is all they know. It has been taught and practiced for generations. Voodoo, Satan worship, the occults, black magic and whatever else you want to call it, just gives me the creeps and is not something you want to mess with. I believe there are evil spirits and demons in and below the Earth and they are powerful and dangerous. As a Christian, I am not so much afraid of these spirits as I am on guard for my soul. My heart goes out to the Haitian people.

A feasible solution for housing the earthquake survivors in Haiti would be acquiring the myriad of surplus shipping containers that have been retired, and sit idle in many ports. At first thought, some may consider this a demeaning manner in which to house people. However, my research has rendered facts that would strongly contradict those whom might think of this concept as demeaning or inadequate.

From my observations of the many photographs and newscasts that I’ve watched when the news of the earthquake first struck Haiti, I noticed that hundreds of these shipping containers remained stacked in the port of Haiti. I’ve discovered that they are constructed to be stacked and remain stacked. The high-seas the shipping vessels traverse, it is imperative that they stay in place. The shipping containers are impervious to wind and rain.

Hundreds of people are presently residing in shipping containers in Jakarta, they have for years. In fact, a community of people have lived in shipping containers for 20 years in Armenia. They were also struck with a devastating earthquake back in 1988. Some have never left this means of temporary housing due to the rigid construction of shipping containers.

Shipping container architecture is a widely growing “Going Green” trend in alternative habitats today. Shipping container living has no bounds. It reaches from here in the United States, all the way to the European Union. It should also be mentioned that some states in the US are not familiar with such structures and obtaining permits for building and zoning can be a daunting task, sometimes pursuing such results in dead-ends.

“While a number of resourceful people have converted shipping containers to makeshift shelters at the margin of society for years, architects and green designers are also increasingly turning to the strong, cheap boxes as source building blocks. Shipping containers can be readily modified with a range of creature comforts, and can be connected and stacked to create modular, efficient spaces for a fraction of the cost, labor and resources of more conventional materials” as stated on Tech News Update on-line.

Applied in Haiti you have sustainable housing for Haitians, and the thousands of workers that are descending on the country of Haiti for relief, support and construction for the rebuilding process.

Shipping container manufacturing has two key-components in mind during the construction of such an enclosure; strength and durability. They are impervious to wind, rain and seawater, for they travel on open decks of large shipping vessels across the vast oceans around the world.

The come in four sizes, the most common being the forty-foot and the twenty-foot shipping containers. Forty-foot shipping containers weigh 8000 lbs, and can be stacked 12 high when empty. Forty-foot shipping containers exact measurements are 40′ feet long, by 8′ wide and are 8′ 6″ in height. Twenty-foot shipping containers are the exact same measurements, for the exception of length (weight 5050 lbs).

The above-mentioned measurements make for ease of mobility and uniformity due to the modular element properties they hold. Dorm like, or “pod” like housing village could be set-up in a steadfast pace. The port in Haiti would have a multitude of shipping containers on hand and can be transported by sea faring vessel, semi and or flat bed truck.

These shipping containers are in such abundance that they could be donated by shipping magnets and the thousands of companies that rely on these shipping containers to commence global commerce.

Susie Scott describes her emotional, entertaining and sometimes heart-breaking journey from Playboy centerfold to humanitarian.

Because of her own often violent, dysfunctional and sexually abusive history it made her that much more determined to ensure other children would not suffer as she did.
Susie Scott’s Journey from Hollywood to Haiti
After dropping out of school at age 15 and lying about her age, she managed to land a job in Aspen Colorado operating a PPX machine, which she had no clue how to do. By the age of 17, she landed several modeling jobs and by 18 she was off to Playboy mansion. In May 1983, she was playmate of the month.
Although previously sucked into a seedy lifestyle with criminals and drugs, Susie Scott is smart, tough and independent with a strong survival instinct and managed to come out of it all with her wits intact still ready to help others.
After finally freeing herself from an abusive marriage, she meets her true love Joe while seeking a divorce. While she was finally happily married, she felt the need to do more and set out for Haiti with her friend Gary where about 80% of Haitians live in abject poverty and the unemployment rate is more than 70%. Most thought she was crazy and she had a hard time finding a driver to take her there but Susie made a beeline for the poorest most dangerous area. Known for its violence and gangs with the reputation as the worst slum in Haiti she headed to Cité Soleil.
Susie Opens School, Feeding Center and Orphanage
Susie did not scare easily and was determined to finish a school that others had left half built with the idea of it doubling for a nutrition center.
After a couple rough starts and rip offs from “vagabonds” as they call con men in Haiti she managed to get a feeding center and schoolhouse built with the help of her husband Joe, brother Mark and several tattooed, muscled and sometimes stoned gang members in Haiti.
They named it “The Mercy Center” and after seeing so many bodies, bullets and machetes, Susie grew tougher. Her brother Mark’s death may have given her a strange strength. Sick of being approached with guns she started saying, “If you’re gonna try and scare me, at least cock the dad-gum thing.”
Wanting to do more she began volunteering at an understaffed public hospital in Port-au-Prince encountering abandoned, neglected, disabled and malnourished children.
She also discovered more evil where children were killed for their organs and some of the healthy ones were being illegally sold on the Haitian black market.
After banging heads with the head nurse, she was forced to transfer twenty-seven children she nursed back to health to their own orphanage.
Many of these disabled children are abandoned because of a widespread belief system that such a child is a curse, but Susie Scott embraces them recognizing the familiar wounded look in their eyes from her own childhood.

Mercy and Sharing Foundation is a private nonprofit organization that was founded by Susie and Joe Krabacher in 1994. Their projects goals are not only to alleviate immediate suffering but also to give Haitian people opportunities by teaching them skills so that they can provide for their families. They work towards combating illiteracy, healing the sick and promoting the ethical treatment of people in Haiti.

“I choose to walk through the lowlands to slap away the talons of darkness that cling to my children, seemingly unloved and forgotten, but indeed the angels of a lower flight.” Susie Scott Krabacher

All profits from the book “Angels of a Lower Flight” go towards helping children in Haiti. It is a deeply moving story Susie Scott bravely shares that will leave you forever changed.
